Our Mission
Our goal is to provide you with a relaxing, creative week, in an ancient romantic village, on one of the most beautiful places on earth – and – provide you with the right kind of knowledge so that you can enjoy painting for the rest of your life.
This is a “center based” workshop. Once you arrive you will not have to get into a car if you don’t want to. Everything is within easy walking distance. Visit Bellagio, Varenna, Como or Menaggio by ferry and enjoy the unforgettable enchantment of “Lago di Como” out on the lake.
You may think of this week as an “art making holiday ” and both as a holiday and in your art making, you will be refreshed and inspired.
To enhance your Italian holiday, we encourage you to try the local food and wine. There is pizzoccheri (buckwheat pasta with cabbage, cheese and butter-sage sauce), lavarello (lake fish) and risotto con pesce persico (risotto with perch) to name a few. But the open market comes to Lenno every Tuesday where you can find all sorts of cheese, salami and many other specialties. And what better way to enjoy an afternoon in Italy than to gather with fellow students at a cafe and talk art – as did the Impressionists – over a glass of Prosecco, a very common aperitif similar to Champagne.
We would like to have you enjoy the lake with us. And we would like you to enjoy a method of painting that is as authentic and timeless as the enchantment of this beautiful country.
